When parents first hear about us, the question often comes up: "Vegetarian? Even for the littlest ones?" Yes – and we're convinced it's the right choice.

At Kita Apfelbaum, we cook fresh vegetarian meals every single day. This isn't a trend decision – it's a conscious stance that fits our educational philosophy.

What's behind it?

Children in their first years of life are developing their eating habits. What they get to know now – colours, textures, flavours – shapes them. We want them to experience from the very beginning that vegetables, legumes, wholegrains and fresh fruit taste good and fill you up.

It's not about forbidding things, but about showing what's possible. A varied, plant-based diet is nutritious, climate-friendly and – when prepared well – simply delicious.

Eating as a community

For us, mealtimes are more than just nutrition. Children sit together at the table, help themselves and explore new foods at their own pace. This strengthens independence and togetherness – two values that are very close to our hearts.

Curious about what ends up on our table? Feel free to write to us – we'd love to hear from you.
