There are moments when you're standing in the middle of chaos – paint buckets, tiles and cables everywhere – and you still know: this is going to be beautiful. That's exactly how it was for us.
How Kita Apfelbaum came to be
Before children played and laughed here, this place was an old day-care facility. Many months of planning, renovation and heart went into the time between the first works and the opening.
Walls were built, ceilings closed, acoustic panels fitted. The kitchen arrived in one piece and was installed straight away. The tiler did brilliant work in the bathroom. And the whole team pitched in – because this nursery isn't just a workplace, it's a project we built together.
The first day
When the first children walked through the door, it was a special moment. Months of work, and then suddenly: children's voices, curiosity, the sound of little feet on the new floor.
What drives us
We founded this nursery because we believe that the first years of a child's life matter enormously. Not just for development – but for the picture a child forms of the world. Safe, curious, connected.
